How to Convert iPhone HEIC Photos to JPG

HEIC to JPGConvert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG. Free, no sign-up.

iPhones save photos as HEIC to keep them small. Windows, many Android apps and lots of upload forms do not accept HEIC, so the photo will not open or upload.

Convert on your computer

  1. Open HEIC to JPG and drop your .heic or .heif photos.
  2. Choose JPG (or PNG) and the quality.
  3. Download the converted photos.

The photos are decoded by your browser on your own device and are never uploaded. That is a little slower than a server for a big batch, but your personal photos stay private.

Avoid HEIC in the first place

On the iPhone you can set Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible to save new photos as JPG. When you share photos by email or AirDrop to a computer, iOS often converts them automatically too.

Make them upload-ready

Converted photos are full size. For a form that asks for “max 500 KB”, compress them with Compress Image using a target size, or reduce the width with Resize Image.

Keep them organised

Choose Save to Workstand after downloading to keep the JPGs in your Images folder, for example attached to a “Home renovation” or “Travel” project.
