Terms of use

Last updated 4 October 2026

Simple terms for a simple, free service. By using openWorkstand you agree to them.

The service

openWorkstand provides browser tools and a workspace that run on your device. Files you create or open are saved in a folder you choose on your own computer, or in your browser’s private storage. openWorkstand does not host, store or back up your files.

Your files and backups

You are responsible for your files, including keeping backups. Because your work lives on your computer, deleting the workspace folder or clearing your browser’s site data deletes it, and we cannot recover it. We recommend keeping your workspace folder in a backed-up or synced location.

Acceptable use

Do not use openWorkstand to break the law, to infringe the rights of others, or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the website. Content you process with the tools must be yours or used with permission.

No warranty

openWorkstand is provided “as is”, free of charge and without warranties of any kind. We do our best to make the tools accurate, but results such as calculations, conversions and translations should be checked before you rely on them for important decisions (for example financial, medical or legal ones).

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, openWorkstand and its makers are not liable for any loss of data, profits or other damages arising from the use of the service.

Intellectual property

The openWorkstand website, software, design and content are owned by openWorkstand and protected by copyright. You may use the service freely, but you may not copy, resell or redistribute the software or the website. Files you create remain yours.

Changes

We may update these terms; the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
