What is the openWorkstand workspace?
A free desk in your browser: a word processor, spreadsheets, a calendar, notes and wiki pages, a to-do list, Asana-style projects, a whiteboard, a code editor, a focus timer and a habit tracker, all working on files in one folder on your computer.
Where is my work stored?
In a folder you choose on your own computer. Each app has its own subfolder (Documents, Spreadsheets, Notes, Tasks, Projects, Calendar, Whiteboards, Code, PDFs and Images). Browsers without folder access, such as Firefox and Safari, use private browser storage on your device instead.
Which browsers can use a folder on my computer?
Chrome, Edge, Opera and Brave on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. On other browsers and on phones, your workspace is kept in private browser storage and you can download everything as a zip at any time.
Can I use the workspace on two computers?
Yes. Put your workspace folder inside a synced folder (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive for desktop or iCloud Drive) and choose the same folder on the other computer.
Is it free?
Yes, completely. There are no paid plans and no ads inside the workspace.
Can I install it as an app?
Yes. In Chrome or Edge, use “Install app” in the address bar; on iPhone or iPad, use Share → Add to Home Screen.
